2017 Fixtures Released!

It is just 130 days till the opening league game of the 2017 season! The fixtures for both the British Gas Southern Premier Cricket League (BGSPCL) and the Hampshire Cricket League (HCL) were released prior to Christmas Eve.

Here is a short preview outlining some of the key points of the season:

The 1st and 2nd team will begin the season with clashes against their respective counterparts from Alton CC. The 1st will play the first ever 50 over game in coloured clothing in league history at Havant Park. The 3rd team will begin with a clash against Salthill, a team from just outside of Chichester.

Many onlookers will consider the weeks of 17th June and 24th June as pivotal in deciding where the league title may go in 2017. The 1st team will play Burridge at Havant Park followed by South Wilts at Lower Bemerton. This process will be repeated again on the 19th and 26th August with the matches played at opposing venues.

The 17th June will be an interesting day for the 2nd team as they venture to Purbrook Heath for the first time June 2008. Whilst the 3rd team have a local derby of their own against Bedhampton at Bidbury Mead.

Another noticeable date is Saturday 3rd June 2017 as the 3rd team will travel to the Isle of Wight to play Ryde Cavaliers.

The 1st team will finish the league season with a trip to Lymington; the 2nd's will host Hursley Park. The 3rd's will finish their league season a week earlier with a trip to IBM South Hants.
